Stephen Cody and Sarah Schendel won the Law School’s Kindregan Scholarship Award, which recognizes outstanding faculty achievements in research and scholarship. The award is given in honor of the memory of Professor Charley Kindregan (1935–2016), an iconic figure and prominent scholar at Suffolk Law.
Research Professor Kathleen Engel was named to the American College of Consumer Financial Services Lawyers based on her “experience, preeminence in the field, and substantial contributions to the promotion of learning and scholarship in consumer financial services law.”
Practitioner-in-Residence Nicole Friederichs, JD ’03, Adjunct Professor Amy Van Zyl-Chavarro, JD ’08, and the Human Rights and Indigenous Peoples Clinic won the 2024 Columbia Global Freedom of Expression Prize for Excellence in Legal Services for their precedent-setting clinical work on a case before the Inter-American Court of Human Rights.
Shailini J. George was named vice president of law schools for the board of the Institute for Well-Being in Law (IWIL). She also serves as co-chair of the Legal Education Sub-Committee of the Massachusetts Supreme Judicial Court’s Standing Committee on Lawyer Well-Being.
Christopher Gibson was named among the World’s Leading Technology Neutrals. The list, compiled by the Silicon Valley Arbitration & Mediation Center, listed the 51 top technology mediators and arbitrators of 2024.

Dwight Golann received the Massachusetts Bar Association’s 2023 Sander Award for leadership, innovation, and excellence in dispute resolution.
Janice Griffith received Suffolk Law’s Alexander J. Cella Memorial Award in recognition of her outstanding contributions and dedication to the Law Review.
Rosa Kim was appointed co-chair of the National Asian Pacific American Bar Association (NAPABA) Law School Professors and Administrators Network. She was also appointed co-general editor, ABA Section of International Law, The Year in Review.
Elizabeth Stillman received the Association of Academic Support Educators 2024 Impact Award.
Elbert Robertson received the Outstanding Faculty/Staff Award from the Suffolk Black Alumni Network; the Social Change Professor of the Year Award from Suffolk University’s Diversity Equity and Inclusion Committee; and the Faculty Member of the Year Award from the Suffolk Black Law Students Association.
David Yamada was elected to the board of directors of Revolutionary Spaces, Inc., a Boston-based nonprofit organization that stewards the Old State House and the Old South Meeting House.
Kathy Vinson, JD ’95 will receive the Blackwell Award in January 2025. The prominent award, jointly created by the Legal Writing Institute and the Association of Legal Writing Directors, recognizes outstanding contributions to the field of legal writing education.
