Two Sawyer Business School faculty members have received prestigious Fulbright scholarships for the 2023–24 academic year.
Marketing Professor Müjde Yuksel is studying at the University of Vaasa in Finland, examining the role that others play in holding people accountable when it comes to physical activity and green consumption—areas in which Finns excel. Strategy and International Business Professor Kim Wang is researching the startup ecosystem of Cyprus.
Every year, the US State Department awards around 800 Fulbright grants to academics across the country, chosen from a pool of more than 4,000 applicants. “This is a big honor for both faculty members and for the Sawyer Business School,” says Dean Amy Zeng. “It is a testament to our global reach as well as the strength and depth of our faculty’s research.”
A native of Turkey, Yuksel appreciates the value of immersing oneself in other cultures and then sharing that knowledge with her Suffolk students. Wang calls the chance to see if an EU country can create its own Silicon Valley “an incredible business and research opportunity.”
