Putting family and health first, even with a busy work schedule
As a PinnacleCare member, no matter where you are or what you’re doing, we will step up should a need arise — and always find the best resources and contacts in the area for any health issue.
“As Chairman, CEO and father of four, I rely on PinnacleCare for the best health experts, contacts and resources. It’s been hugely important to us. I can’t imagine not having this membership — for me and my family.”
Navigating the healthcare system at home is challenging, navigating a foreign healthcare system can be almost impossible. While living in Europe, Anita and Jacobs became concerned with their son’s increasing knee pain. After multiple appointments and still no diagnosis, they reached out to PinnacleCare for support and guidance. PinnacleCare not only located a specialist, but found the most qualified orthopedic pediatrician in Europe, while also managing all the logistics and details.
“As our family traveled the globe, PinnacleCare stayed one step ahead of our health needs.”
Health support when and where you need it
When navigating travel between two homes across the country and managing a busy work schedule, Maria was experiencing increasing back pain. She reached out to her Health Advisor to help find and coordinate appointments before she had to leave town with the most qualified physicians who could identify and recommend a treatment plan for her pain.
“Every member of the PinnacleCare health advisory team seamlessly stepped in to help coordinate my schedule of appointments.”
The details make all the difference with your health
The on-going management of chronic conditions can be frustrating, but when symptoms worsen, action needs to be taken. Experiencing multiple conditions, including diabetes, started to have decreased mobility, Louis reached out to his Health Advisor to find a better way to manage his care.
“PinnacleCare’s attention to detail is impressive. If they had not taken time to review our medical records, we would not be on a proactive health path. We are both glad to have PinnacleCare as a second pair of eyes for everything.”
Even when hope is lost, PinnacleCare can help
After struggling with recurrent cervical cancer for more than a decade, Rita reached out to PinnacleCare. Her Health Advisor immediately stepped into action, answering questions, guiding her through treatments, and finding her a top gynecological surgical oncologist who performed surgery to remove her tumor, after other physicians refused, saying it wouldn’t be successful.
“PinnacleCare advisors spoke with me every day and became my loyal cheerleaders and friends. I survived cervical cancer — thanks to my health advisors. I thank everyone: physicians, surgeon, my husband, and of course, PinnacleCare.”
Supporting aging parents
When an 81-year-old member with Parkinson’s disease started to experience changes in her mental status and memory, her daughter reached out to PinnacleCare for support. Her Health Advisor immediately arranged for an MRI, which indicated she had fluid around her brain that was creating pressure, called Normal Pressure Hydrocephalus (NPH). The pressure was affecting her cognitive mental state, walking ability and other bodily functions; symptoms that are like those of Parkinson’s disease.
“If it weren’t for PinnacleCare finding my mother the right specialists and surgeons, and pushing the system to do further evaluation, her condition may have progressed to a life-threatening situation.”
— PinnacleCare Member
With George’s family living and traveling all over the world, he wanted the confidence that he could find the best healthcare wherever they go. When his daughter was living in a different state for college and needed emergency surgery, he reached out to PinnacleCare. His Health Advisor was able to find the most qualified specialist in the area and help coordinate her care.
Health support while traveling the world
Working with a very specific schedule, PinnacleCare successfully coordinated all her necessary appointments, including a pain management consultation, spine consultation, knee X-ray, MRI and follow-up appointment.
When navigating travel between two homes across the country and managing a busy work schedule, a PinnacleCare member was experiencing increasing back pain. She reached out to her Health Advisor to help find and coordinate appointments before she had to leave town with the most qualified physicians who could identify and recommend a treatment plan for her pain.
Through several in-depth consultations with the PinnacleCare clinical team, the consensus was there had to be more going on with his conditions. Our team meticulously reviewed the member’s medical records and found an MRI from two years prior that noted the need for a follow-up spinal test which had been overlooked by Louis’ medical team.
His Health Advisor immediately began working to coordinate next steps to help Louis regain greater mobility and live a healthier life.
The oncologist not only performed the difficult surgery but brought in one of the country’s leading vascular surgeons to assist him after the tumor was removed to create new blood vessels. After three more rounds of chemotherapy following the surgery, her oncologist found no sign of the tumor!
Given the results of the MRI, her team of doctors immediately implemented a new treatment plan that included a four-day hospital stay to drain the fluid and surgery adding a shunt to better regulate the fluid and relieve pressure.
Three months after the surgery, accompanied by her Health Advisor, she had another medical review. She had significant improvement with her walking, memory, urinary function, and cognitive ability. Further improvement has her medical team reconsidering her original Parkinson’s diagnosis, and believe she may have been experiencing Parkinson-like symptoms caused by NPH. If this is the case, she might avoid a progressively debilitating disease for one that can be managed well through treatment.
