Mentorship is about developing trusting relationships, being vulnerable and non-judgemental, allowing autonomy and sometimes even mistakes, and teaching how to problem-solve and learn from those mistakes.
A good mentorship relationship allows a mentee to realize that the seasoned doctors they look up to and learn from once doubted their own abilities but, with time and experience, gained the clinical acumen they eventually possess.
