Zhao described the design process as iterative among the TD Securities team – a process that also included an element of community feedback to help ensure the design landed among diverse East Asian communities.
From the dragon's scales to its claws, Zhao considered each element carefully. He created the design to feature a dragon with five claws. In Chinese culture, a five-clawed dragon typically represented the emperor, the highest form of authority.
No detail went unnoticed
Now that the Year of the Dragon is upon us, Zhao finds it gratifying to hold his years of work in his hands.
