Hangama Amiri works predominantly with textiles to examine notions of home, memory, and belongings, as well as how gender, social norms, and larger geopolitical conflict impact the daily lives of women in and from Afghanistan. Her work focuses on intimate moments between families and women and celebrates resilience, joy, and bonds nourished in domestic spaces.
