Concussions, or mild traumatic brain injuries (mTBI), affect over 69 million people annually and can lead to serious physical, cognitive, and psychological impairments—especially among law enforcement and defense personnel. Team Wendy’s R&D focuses on optimizing ballistic helmet liners to reduce trauma, partnering with universities and agencies through initiatives like the PANTHER program to study TBI at the cellular level. With a six degrees of freedom impact machine enabling advanced testing, Team Wendy combines cellular research and modeling to better understand injury mechanisms and improve helmet design for enhanced protection.
