Saudi Arabia has pledged to cut its CO2 emissions by 130 million tonnes each year by 2030. This will be achieved through multiple initiatives, including the use of clean hydrocarbon technology and an increase in renewable energy.

With an arid landscape that’s always in danger from desertification, Saudi Arabia has to work hard to protect that land. One of its pledges is to rehabilitate 40 million hectares of degraded land by planting 10 billion trees around the country.
