Community Connection
the Four C’s
To build a school culture that affirms Black boys and teens, we must identify and uplift rituals, routines and practices that honor their strengths.
Schools must implement policies, structures and systems that create welcoming and safe learning conditions for Black boys and teens.
Community work on inclusion helps ensure the voices of all students districtwide are heard.
Research has shown that every child benefits from having a Black male teacher, but it doesn’t end with a diverse staff. All staff needs to be well-versed and competent in anti-racist practices.
Helping Black boys and teens get the direct support, mentorship and community they need
and deserve prepares them to thrive.
