Outside of Tokyo, Musashi has a store on Tsushima island in Nagasaki prefecture. The island may be familiar to fans of the samurai video game Ghost of Tsushima, which is set on this gorgeous island retreat.
Musashi’s Tsushima outpost, opened in April 2024, seeks to create a close connection to the local community while incorporating SDG goals and samurai culture into the store. Notably, Musashi created the industry’s first sustainable product that’s in line with SDG goals – beautiful knife handles made from repurposed marine debris.
Musashi is set to welcome a new store in Kyoto in October this year. The Kyoto outpost will feature four floors with a retail space, a sake bar plus an event space dedicated to workshops and events highlighting Japanese culture.
