For a family-friendly event, check out the 2-day Festival da Coxinha in Salvador’s City Park in mid-September. It’s an olfactory overload! With temps in the low 80s and low humidity, it’s a perfect time to walk through this gastronomy fest to catch a whiff of food, including mouthwatering pear-shaped Colinas (battered, fried treats usually filled with shredded chicken and cheese), gingerbread, homemade chocolate, brownies and other sweet treats, served at more than 50 vendors.
