Employers, resist calling your employees when you know they are driving. Likewise, employees, if a work call comes in while you are driving, refrain from answering it. Return the call after safely pulling off the road. Nothing is more important than your safety and the safety of others.

Telematics programs offered by insurance carriers to collect data and record driving behaviors can help drivers gain awareness and improve their performance on the road. Additionally, 37% of workers surveyed said that they have taken work-related calls, texts or emails while driving. When asked why, 44% said that it might be a work-related emergency, and 43% responded that they felt the need to always be available.²
