Emerald Cruises
S ometimes you want to splash out on a cruise and splurge on everything from the flights to the suite to the excursions. And that level of luxury often comes with a big price tag. But there is a way to avoid that sticker shock and still satisfy your desire for elevated travel.
On Emerald Cruises, the baseline for their river and yacht cruises is already pretty great. Gourmet dining options, expert-led cultural excursions and attentive service are part of a wealth of generous inclusions. There is a ton of value baked into the price of the cruise. The best part? You get to choose exactly how luxurious you want your experience to be.
Whether you’re looking to uncover hidden gems that go beyond the standard cultural experience or treat yourself to a luxurious spa day, there’s an upgrade available. Even off the ship, the options are there to take it up a notch — from truffle tasting in Croatia to a tour of picturesque French vineyards.
Discover what makes Emerald Cruises an accessible luxury experience.
On board, all creature comforts are to be expected: plush robes for ultimate unwinding, luxurious toiletries that put your travel-sized shampoo bottles to shame and modern interior design that gives the effect of a floating 5-star hotel. For the traveling foodie, gourmet dining options tempt the tastebuds and invite culinary exploration in the upscale dining area onboard. You can also opt for a special dining experience that captures the flavors and dishes of the destinations you visit (imagine learning the complexities of Provençal cuisine from a French chef while sailing the Rhone, for example). All drinks are included on an ocean yacht sailing, and a daily selection of complimentary wines, draft beers and soft drinks are available at lunch and dinner for river cruising. Packages are available for purchase for those who prefer extended service.

Sticking to a healthy routine abroad is made easier with Emerald Cruises’ wellness offerings. There are many opportunities for keeping active on and off the ship—and most are included, which isn’t always the case when cruising. With expert-led fitness classes, spacious pools with panoramic views and healthy dining options, wellness is always within reach. For an additional cost, treat yourself to a relaxing massage from an expertly trained masseuse in the wellness area.
Though life is good on the ship, Emerald Cruises’ cultural immersion programming inspires even the biggest homebodies to step out and explore. Included in your cruise are a variety of EmeraldEXCURSIONS, EmeraldPLUS and EmeraldACTIVE activities, each of which helps you discover new parts of the world with the help of a guide. For an even deeper dive into local culture, guests can upgrade to DiscoverMORE activities, in which a guide unveils hidden gems for an elevated “life as a local” experience. Think: exclusive art tours, private concerts and faraway excursions. All guests also have free access to onboard e-bikes that they can use for sightseeing in each port.
These aren’t your normal cruise ships—they’re Star-Ships. What’s the difference? They each hold no more than 180 passengers and feature custom built, intentionally designed spaces. From three-tiered atriums with energizing elements, heated indoor pools with a twist (surprise! They transform into a cinema) and modern, spacious rooms, every corner of these ships was carefully considered to create an ambiance that’s just-right.
A river cruise allows you to unpack once and tour a number of charming, waterfront towns without the hassle of a commute or other logistics. You could explore Medieval castles with a guide in Germany one day, taste fried schnitzel in Austria the next and wrap up with a guided coach tour in Hungary. With Emerald Cruises, this is all part of the Europe river experience.
Or, journey through Southeast Asia by ship and see iconic landmarks like Angkor Wat and One Pillar Pagoda up close. You’ll sail aboard the Emerald Harmony, which travels along the Mekong River to destinations like Vietnam and Cambodia. On board, guests can sip tea in the Lotus Room and enjoy a traditional lion dance performance, rooted in Chinese culture and symbolizing good luck and fortune. Off-ship, guests can expect the unexpected, from a monkey bridge visit to a coconut candy making workshop and more. Explore a rural Vietnam town that specializes in red-hot chili and peppers, and sample some for yourself if your palette allows.
Ocean cruising comes in all shapes and sizes—and if you’re looking for a more upscale, intimate experience sailing the open sea, a luxury yacht is the way to do it. Holding no more than 100 guests, the award-winning Emerald Azzurra & Emerald Sakara travel to warm-weather destinations like the Mediterranean and Caribbean and offer a level of luxury that can’t be replicated on other ocean cruises. Their sleek build allows them to travel to smaller ports that larger cruise ships can’t access, so you’re closer to the action and less likely to compete with large crowds of tourists. A smaller size also means a low staff-to-guest ratio for more personalized service.
When it comes to Emerald Cruises’ yacht fleet, every stateroom has an ocean view. Each features plush linens, light and airy décor and a complimentary minibar that’s restocked daily. Featuring an infrared sauna, spa pool and infinity-style aqua pool, these yachts also offer an entire selection of self care stations. Gently wake up with yoga on the Observation Deck and spend the rest of your morning migrating between the pools and sauna. Or, for those feeling more adventurous, there’s a marina platform where guests can take advantage of kayaks, paddleboards, seabobs and other water sports toys.
Emerald Cruises’ newest yacht, Emerald Kaia, has all of the luxury elements of its sister ships but with a few special additions like a Night Market Grill, expanded common spaces and elevated options for enjoying the outdoors. The observation deck includes cozy sun beds and lounges as well as a spa pool to take better advantage of sun-soaking days. The gym also features an indoor space that opens to an outdoor area so guests can feel connected to nature while they exercise. Launching in early 2026, Emerald Kaia will hold up to 128 guests and sail the Mediterranean and Adriatic Seas as well as Seychelles and the Indian Ocean.
