EAT | see | play | stay
The resort town of Laughlin, Nevada is full of dualities. A desert town with the mighty Colorado River running alongside it. Relaxed restaurants serving comfort food alongside upscale steakhouses for a fancy night out. A-list concerts with high-energy acts paired with comedy shows in intimate venues. Excitement both indoors (eight casino resorts) and outdoors (kayaking, hiking, golf and more). These all combine for a harmonious, easygoing getaway.
Much like its neighbor 90 miles north, Laughlin offers gaming and entertainment—but on an approachable scale. And as a bonus, the price points are very affordable (even on the weekends). Here, you can expect a casual atmosphere—still filled with plenty of fun to be had. Here’s our guide on how to eat, see, play and stay your way through a long Laughlin weekend.

Golfing should be on your agenda during a Laughlin visit thanks to scenic desert landscapes and mild winter weather. The Mojave Resort Golf Club has an 18-hole course in Laughlin on the banks of the river. And just east of town in Bullhead City, Arizona is the Laughlin Ranch Golf Club. On this 18-hole course, expect waterfalls, bridges, lush fairways plus GPS-equipped golf carts.
The area’s unique landscape makes it a perfect place to explore outdoors. The Colorado River Heritage Greenway Park and Trails encompass several miles of trails for walkers, hikers and bikers, with some starting just a few minutes north of Laughlin’s strip. To enjoy the mighty Colorado, the Laughlin Riverwalk offers a paved path perfect for a relaxing stroll. There’s also the Big Bend of the Colorado River State Recreation Area, where two miles of shoreline offer the opportunity for swimming, fishing, boating and sinking your toes in the sand.
Celebrate the holiday season in Laughlin, where the weather is mild and the season's greetings will make you smile. Just strolling along the Riverwalk and through the casinos will put you in the holiday spirit with decorations galore. For a Christmas classic, the Anaheim Ballet will bring their performance of “The Nutcracker” to Don Laughlin's Riverside Resort Hotel & Casino Dec. 11-14. And on Dec. 13, embrace more holiday magic with Cirque Musica Holiday Wonderland. The production pairs extraordinary acrobatics with seasonal music for an awe-inspiring show.
Laughlin attracts top musical artists to stop in town on their international tours. The Righteous Brothers will take the stage on Dec. 6 at The Edge Pavilion, an intimate venue seating over 2,000 in an indoor, climate-controlled setting. This stage will also see visits from Motown legends The Commodores on Nov. 15 and The Temptations on Jan. 24. Country artist Kane Brown will take the stage on Feb. 27 at the Rio Vista Outdoor Amphitheater. And next spring, Lainey Wilson will perform at the Laughlin Event Center on April 11.
Cap off a wonderful weekend away by trying some of Laughlin’s fine dining. Inside the Golden Nugget is the Saltgrass Steak House. Dig into a selection of steaks including bone-in ribeye, Texas T-bone and New York strip. The food will be made even better with sweeping views of the Colorado River flowing by. For some of Laughlin’s finest dining, The Gourmet Room has laid out its white tablecloths for you. This establishment boasts an expansive wine list, elegant ambiance and tableside cooking. Its menu of French, Italian and steakhouse cuisine is highlighted with dishes like escargot bourguignonne, seafood alfredo and Steak Diane. End the evening with some crème brûlée for two alongside the beautiful river views.
When it comes to dining, Laughlin has something for everyone. The Beach Cafe at Harrah’s Laughlin is an ideal breakfast spot, where its casual and beachy atmosphere will start your day off on the right foot. Fuel up with options like their Beach Breakfast Sandwich, huevos rancheros, and strawberry French toast. Inside The New Pioneer Hotel and Casino is Bumbleberry Flats, serving breakfast daily plus a breakfast buffet on weekends. You’ll find Southern-inspired comfort foods like biscuits and gravy, chicken and waffles, country fried steak and Southern Pecan Bananas Foster.
Along the strip, Laughlin River Jetski Rentals are conveniently located outside The New Pioneer Casino. The River Passage Water Taxi offers a way to navigate the strip by water, stopping at select casinos and resorts along the way. Re-opening for the season on Feb. 11, Laughlin River Tours offers a narrated scenic cruise to learn more about the local history, see the town from a new point of view and grab a drink from the boat’s full-service bar. They also offer a variety of dinner cruises, including one with Dean Martin and Marilyn Monroe impersonators.
If you’re looking for a laugh in Laughlin, head to the L.A. Comedy Club, the sister club to the one at Vegas’ The STRAT Hotel, Casino & Tower with the same name. Find affordable tickets to their shows hosted Wednesday–Sunday. Settle in with a beverage from their full-service bar (which offers an all-you-can-drink special) and get ready for an evening of lighthearted fun. Keep the energy up with a visit to Losers Lounge. The nightclub features live bands and DJs playing and performing pop music. But, be sure to direct your attention to the walls for the in-house entertainment—where headlines, posters and photos of famous (and infamous) “losers” throughout the years are displayed, from historical figures to entertainers.
If you're looking to catch a game, head over to The Brew Brothers Tap House at Tropicana Laughlin. With over 20 TVs playing the day’s games and 16 beers on tap, the choice is yours. The menu is filled with pub grub favorites like wings, burgers and sandwiches. For some of the best pizza in town, look for River Rock Pizza & Pasta inside the Aquarius Casino Resort. Find classic options like pepperoni and margherita, plus elevated pies including one with roasted chicken and spinach and a braised short rib pizza.
