Sun Princess
I n the world of travel, new ship launches always bring a ripple of fresh energy. The recent debut of Sun Princess, however, has brought something closer to a tidal wave of excitement. That’s because this new Princess Cruises® ship is much more than a fresh take on a familiar cruise experience; it’s a total reimagining. You can see the change from a mile away, literally, thanks to the massive all-glass observation dome on its bow. But the reinvention is palpable throughout the ship, too. From its Sanctuary Collection—an entirely new class of accommodations that encompasses its own restaurant and an exclusive club—to its inventive new dining venues and next-level theater, the cruise experience has been revamped from every angle. Sun Princess’ unveiling also marks the start of a brand-new era for the line—its Sphere Class ships—with Star Princess soon to follow in 2025.Sun Princess will be sailing the Caribbean from Florida starting in October, so you can “double your sun” just as fall temperatures dip. Read on for a sneak peek at the next-generation vessel, plus details on upcoming sailings.
Let the light shine in
Natural light permeates inside every corner of the Dome—the first glass-enclosed space of its kind on a Princess ship. The multi-level covered deck features an indoor/outdoor pool and solarium by day. By night, the pool area transforms into a stage, showcasing jaw-dropping aerial performances and mesmerizing lighting effects, created in partnership with Cirque Éloize.
The sunshine-filled theme carries over to the innovative 3-story Piazza as well, where windows wrap into a spherical shape, offering ocean views in all directions. Each tier of the Piazza is outfitted with comfortable seating, while an impressive LED screen at the center of the space delivers a variety of programming—including live entertainment.

Built with style—and purpose
Sun Princess also ushers in a new era of entertainment venues for the line with the Arena, its 990-seat theater. The theater is the most technologically advanced in the brand's history; the space features state-of-the-art lighting and immersive surround sound. It can be configured in three ways to accommodate a wide variety of performances.
Also new on Sun Princess is an elevated main dining space—and that's meant literally, since the restaurants stretch across three floors. Each has an open, airy feeling and its own unique personality. A tendril-like light sculpture spans all three decks, and guests can enjoy serene wake views on each level.
Sun Princess' Lotus Spa is also the line's first multi-level wellness center. And the new features don't end there. Guests can enjoy a salt room, aeromatic steam room and the most extensive treatment menu ever onboard a Princess ship.
A new level of luxury
With Sun Princess' debut came the rollout of the line's Sanctuary Collection—that is, luxurious, spacious staterooms and suites that come with a long list of exclusive perks. Starting with Sanctuary Balcony staterooms, all the way up to the jaw-dropping 1,262 square-foot Sky Suite with a sprawling private terrace, the Sanctuary Collection introduces a level of luxury that's not been seen before on Princess ships.
Sanctuary Club & dining
Only for Sanctuary guests, Sun Princess features two exclusive spaces well worth upgrading for. On the top deck of the ship, the tranquil Sanctuary Club is an adults-only retreat (ages 16+) with private cabanas and plush furniture set around a pool and Jacuzzi. The club has the feel of a high-end resort, with attentive pool service, refreshing beverages, light bites and relaxing music. The venue also hosts exclusive events, like sail-away receptions and sunrise yoga classes.
And there's another experience reserved just for Sanctuary Collection guests: an exclusive restaurant. Guests will be treated to a custom chef's menu in the elegant dining room each night, no reservations needed.
A host of built-in perks
All Sanctuary Collection guests automatically receive Princess Premier benefits as well. Premium cocktails, wines by the glass, specialty coffees, smoothies, fresh juices and mocktails are all covered.
The package also gives cruisers unlimited specialty dining meals per person and a professional photo package. Unlimited premium Wi-Fi for up to four device are also included. The value-loaded benefits bundle is worth over $600 per person on a 7-day cruise.
Dozens of dining venues to love
Sun Princess brings a fresh take on dining, too, with new restaurants to tantalize guests' taste buds. Brazilian art sensation Romero Britto collaborated with Princess to create Love by Britto, an art-inspired dining experience at sea. Fitting for the cruise line behind the actual Love Boat from the hit 1970s and 80s TV series, the restaurant celebrates love with an aphrodisiac-infused tasting menu created by celebrity chef Rudi Sodamin. Think oysters with Champagne pearls, grilled fig with prosciutto and watermelon cocktails. The space itself features Britto's bold, uplifting and love-inspired colors and patterns, as yet another mood boost.
The Butcher's Block by Dario specialty dining restaurant also made its grand entrance on the Sun Princess. Dario Cecchini, famous for his butcher shops in the Tuscan village of Panzono, Italy, is behind the bistro.
More new spots and fan favorites
Those who like a bit of theater with their Japanese cuisine will appreciate Umai Teppanyaki, yet another restaurant making its debut on the decks of the Sun Princess. Makoto Ocean, headed by sushi master Chef Makoto Okuwu, offers three different set menus featuring dishes like wasabi fried rice, miso seabass and a selection of nigiri and maki. Seafood lovers, meanwhile, will want to book a meal or two at Catch by Rudi, another concept from Rudi Sodamin, which debuted on select Princess ships last year.
Meanwhile, Princess loyalists will be thrilled to find familiar favorites like the Crown Grill steak and seafood restaurant onboard. Also among the 30 delectable dining options is Sabatini's Italian Trattoria, with its handmade pasta, vibrant Mediterranean vegetables, traditional Italian sauces and hearty braised meat dishes.
Bars and lounges
The innovators at Princess didn't skip over bars and nightlife when planning exciting new features for Sun Princess. The ship boasts 15 bars and lounges, including both new concepts and tried and true Princess favorites.
For a mystery-laced night out, Spellbound by Magic Castle is the place to try. Modeled after, and in partnership with, the famous Magic Castle performance venue in Hollywood, the lounge features multiple themed rooms, mixologists who double as sleight-of-hand artists and a stable of skilled magicians. Crooners is the lounge of choice for piano music fans. O’Malley’s Irish Pub, meanwhile, brings authentic Dublin vibes, complete with live music and European tavern-style decor. Of course, if you'd like your cocktail with a splash of sunshine, you can grab one at bars in the Piazza or the Dome as well.
Exciting new stages and shows
Princess' largest-ever ship comes with a fittingly massive array of entertainment, too. The exact lineup varies by sailing, but you can expect to find anything from Broadway-style musicals to productions led by celebrity choreographers in the Arena. Depending on the show, it may be transformed into a theater-in-the-round, a 270-degree seating configuration or as a traditional proscenium stage—so you'll likely feel you're in a different venue every night.
In addition to the aerial shows on view in the Dome by night, a variety of performances will grace the Piazza as well. Inside the multi-tiered space, musical acts, game shows and events will keep guests entertained. And cruisers can look forward to Princess' signature events as well: sailaway parties, welcome shows, themed deck parties, farewell parties and light shows are among the happenings "on deck."
Princess' largest casino
Those looking to test their luck at the onboard casino are in for a surprise—and a big one. Princess' largest-ever casino has 50% more space and 30% more machines than the line's Royal Class ships. The 9,000 square-foot casino floor is home to hundreds of new and popular slots plus video poker games. There are also plenty of live action table games to get in on.
Enhancements for the Princess Casino on Sun Princess go beyond its scale. Plush seating, airy 10-foot ceilings and a luxe high-limit slot area add to the thrills of visiting this upgraded gaming lounge.
