To avoid Hawaii’s mandatory, 10-day self-quarantine for visitors from outside the Aloha state, you’ll need to upload a valid, negative COVID-19 test from a trusted partner to the Safe Travels website before arrival. Travelers who have been vaccinated in the United States may travel to Hawaii without any pre-travel testing or quarantine requirements. Visit our dedicated Hawaii Travel webpage for details, and watch HGV Explorer Jessica M.’s first-hand account of traveling to Hawaii here.

If you’re planning a trip to Oahu instead, book a stay at Hokulani Waikiki by Hilton Grand Vacations, which offers easy access to the restaurants and shops of the Waikiki Beach Walk entertainment district. Plus, the resort’s rooftop pool has been ranked among the best plunge pool experiences in Hawaii by trip101.com.
Alternatively, The Grand Islander by Hilton Grand Vacations is located just steps from the beach, where you can enjoy fun-filled water activities, such as snorkeling and stand-up paddle-boarding.

More Hawaiian adventures
Within the resort
Hugging the coast of Maalaea Bay, the 27-acre resort draws inspiration from Maui’s scenic beauty. For instance, the one- and two-bedroom suites feature furniture made from natural materials like wood and rattan, as well as airy, light-filled spaces that nod to Hawaii’s indoor-outdoor lifestyle.
“All the furnishings are unique and created for this project, and inspired by the motifs and colors that are characteristic of the Maui landscape,” explains resort designer Beatrice Girelli. (Read our full interview with Beatrice here.)
Amenities within the resort include a large clubhouse, a fitness center, a large pool and an open-lawn recreational space. There’s also an oceanfront beach club, where you can soak up gorgeous sunset views. As Will B., the general manager of Maui Bay Villas, sums up: “This is island living at its finest!”

Beyond the resort
“Maui Bay Villas is located in Kihei, right between Haleakala and Maalaea Bay, offering great access to the island’s attractions. Guests can explore and find adventures that fit every type of vacation style,” says Will.
Indeed, there’s plenty to see and do on Hawaii’s second largest island. Outdoor activities abound: Rappel down jungle cliffs in a secluded valley, hike through stark volcanic landscapes in Haleakala National Park or snorkel in waters replete with colorful fish. Alternatively, simply relax on one of the pristine beaches that are within walking distance of the resort.
For a dose of culture, book tickets to a luau — a traditional Hawaiian feast accompanied by song and dance. Or try your hand at making a lei, which is a symbol of love and respect in the local culture. You can contact Hawaii Hula Company to organize a workshop.
