Set in a 19th-century stone farmhouse, Los Tamarindos flies the flag for Los Cabos’ farm-to-table dining scene. Flora Farms

In the foothills of the Sierra de la Laguna Mountains, Flora Farms is a 25-acre working farm, culinary hub and spa. Make a day of it and spend your morning getting pampered before heading to Flora’s Field Kitchen, where chef Guillermo Tellez creates dishes using fresh ingredients straight from the farm.

The innovative menu at this design-led restaurant features seasonal ingredients that mostly come straight from the surrounding 25 acres of organic farmland. Delve into dishes like fish tacos with red cabbage and Thai sauce, or grilled octopus served with fried potatoes.

Vela

Ranked the top restaurant in San José del Cabo on TripAdvisor, Vela at Hilton Los Cabos Beach & Golf Resort combines Italian, Spanish and French flavors with the freshest Mexican ingredients. The pastas here are made in-house daily. Try the shrimp ravioli or the hand-rolled strozzapreti, paired with a few glasses of local wine.

Edith’s

At this charming spot near Médano Beach, owner Edith Jiménez combines local Baja flavors with the rustic mountain cuisine of her hometown in Guerrero. Try the hand-patted corn or wheat flour tortillas, which are cooked on the griddle and stuffed with cheese, mushrooms, bell peppers and bacon.

La Lupita Taco & Mezcal

This vibrant restaurant serves a taco-focused menu, with modern iterations (such as miso and fish with cucumber, jicama and lemon zest) alongside classic flavors (think marinated pork with cilantro, onion, pineapple and corn). Pair your dishes with a local craft beer or an artisanal mezcal cocktail.

Mi Casa

Mi Casa has been serving Mexican classics to visitors in Cabo San Lucas for over two decades. There’s an outpost in San José del Cabo, but we suggest sticking to the original, where you can sample dishes, such as chicken mole, against a backdrop of colorful furnishings and mariachi music.

The Office on the Beach

This laid-back beachside joint is a firm favorite thanks to its great food, seaside views and live music. It serves all sorts of Mexican dishes, from Baja burritos to fajitas with pinto beans. We recommend booking a table for a Thursday evening: The piñatas and mariachi music will get you into a Mexican mood in no time.
