Originally opened as the Buckingham Hotel in 1929, the building that today houses The Quin, a Hilton Club has occupied its prime location on Manhattan’s Billionaires’ Row for more than 90 years. In May 2022, it officially held a grand opening event after a comprehensive $50 million renovation — just in time for the summer travel season.
“As the first major brand to open a timeshare property in Manhattan nearly two decades ago, HGV has continued to redefine vacation ownership in the world’s most sought-after city,” says Mark Wang, HGV’s president and CEO. “We’re thrilled to debut this extraordinary new property as the city celebrates the return of tourism.”
Read on to find out what Club Members and guests can expect during their next stay at The Quin.
Lovers of modern art will feel at home among The Quin’s collection of pieces from artists like Blek le Rat and Corno

Over the decades, the Buckingham Hotel hosted various luminaries, including American modernist artist Georgia O’Keeffe and Russian-French maestro Marc Chagall, as well as numerous art exhibitions. Today, this artistic spirit lives on at The Quin.
Step inside and you’ll discover guest rooms and communal spaces adorned with edgy graffiti pieces from French street art pioneer Blek le Rat, striking post-pop portraits from Canadian artist Joanne Corneau — also known as Corno — and much more.
You also can’t miss the striking 15-foot video wall in the lobby, which showcases dynamic digital art displays. (Read more about The Quin’s diverse art collection in our Spring 2022 issue of Club Traveler magazine.)
Creative spirit
Splurge on a penthouse suite and enjoy access to this serene outdoor space
Art aside, there’s plenty more that guests can look forward to at The Quin. The reimagined property features 207 spacious studios and suites, each fitted with 4K televisions, king-size beds and Nespresso machines to make guests truly feel at home.
For an extra-memorable stay, splurge on one of the opulent penthouse suites located on the 17th, 18th and 19th floors, which come complete with outdoor terraces overlooking lush Central Park. Amenities include a gym and business center.
Luxurious amenities
A stay at The Quin gives you convenient access to Midtown Manhattan’s best attractions, including Rockefeller Center

The Quin’s prime Midtown Manhattan location means that you’ll find yourself among New York City’s best attractions. The property is minutes from Carnegie Hall, a historic performance space where you can catch world-class opera shows, jazz concerts and more. It’s also two blocks from Central Park, a sprawling 843-acre park dotted with verdant meadows, wild woodlands, manicured gardens and even a zoo.
Also a short stroll away are The Museum of Modern Art, Rockefeller Center and, of course, the bright lights of Times Square, the landmark that perhaps best embodies the pulsating energy of New York City.
An unbeatable location
Three-Michelin-starred Per Se is one of New York City’s most acclaimed restaurants, so be sure to book ahead. Here, Owner and Head Chef Thomas Keller turns out artfully crafted plates that combine quality ingredients with classic French cooking techniques, served in the form of a memorable nine-course tasting menu. It’s a quintessential Big Apple dining experience that visitors should try at least once.

Where to Eat
You’ll feel as though you’ve been transported to Old Havana at this convivial establishment, which dishes out traditional Cuban cuisine (plus complimentary hand-rolled cigars at certain times). Order classics such as ropa vieja (shredded skirt steak braised in tomato sauce, onions and peppers) and bistec de palomilla (traditional Cuban steak with sauteed onions) — best enjoyed with a refreshing mojito or Cuba libre (rum and Coke).

For luxurious Italian fare, look no further than this beloved institution at Columbus Circle. Its menu celebrates the best of the sea, with delectable dishes including salt-baked branzino, squid ink lobster ravioli and jumbo lump crab casarecce (short pasta) topped with sea urchin puree. Long considered one of the best restaurants in New York City (not an easy feat), Marea is a fine-dining affair you’ll talk about for years to come.
