America’s theme-park capital consistently ranks among the most visited cities in the country, thanks to the thrilling trifecta of Walt Disney World® Resort, Universal Orlando® Resort and SeaWorld® Orlando, as well as countless other entertainment options for the entire family.
With abundant sunshine and endless choices for lodging, dining and shopping, there’s never a bad time to book a trip to Central Florida. Not to mention, Orlando has seen a recent boom in dining and entertainment options, including the inaugural debut of a Michelin Guide to Orlando’s fine-dining scene and once-in-a-lifetime 50th anniversary celebrations at Walt Disney World® Resort. Here are four reasons why now’s the perfect moment to explore the City Beautiful, as well as recommendations for where to book your stay with Hilton Grand Vacations.
Cinderella’s Castle shines bright in celebration of Walt Disney World® Resort’s 50th anniversary

Walt Disney World® Resort kicked off its 50th anniversary celebrations on October 1, 2021, a half-century to the day that the Magic Kingdom first swung open its doors to the public. To commemorate its landmark birthday in style, the Magic Kingdom has draped Cinderella’s Castle in celebratory finery and introduced a new nighttime spectacular that includes state-of-the-art projections all the way down Main Street.
Meanwhile, EPCOT has welcomed two highly anticipated attractions: Remy’s Ratatouille Adventure, in which guests feel like they’ve been shrunk down to the size of a rodent as they scurry around the Pixar film’s Parisian backdrop, and Guardians of the Galaxy: Cosmic Rewind, an immersive Marvel-themed roller coaster that launches in reverse and is sure to get your adrenaline pumping.
Elsewhere, Animal Kingdom has introduced Disney KiteTails, an aerial spectacular with larger-than-life character-shaped kites. And at Hollywood Studios, you can visit Star Wars: Galaxy Edge, an immersive land that lets you experience “Star Wars” stories brought to life.

The Orlando region is blessed with a diverse assortment of HGV resorts to appeal to every kind of traveler. Tuscany Village, a Hilton Grand Vacations Club sits adjacent to the Orlando Vineland Premium Outlets just off International Drive. It has a Mediterranean-inspired deli and pizzeria, as well as a pool bar and grill where you can enjoy delicious tropical cocktails.
SeaWorld Orlando, a Hilton Grand Vacations Club is unsurprisingly made for water lovers, with three palm-lined pools and a kids’ splash pad. And in Celebration, Mystic Dunes, a Hilton Vacation Club boasts its own public golf course designed by Champions Tour player and NBC analyst Gary Koch, plus a driving range, practice bunkers and chipping and putting greens. This property will be available for booking to Members with HGV Max benefits. Be on the lookout for communications from HGV once the property is available for reservations. For more information about HGV Max, visit my.hgv.com/hgv-max.
Note that the Thanksgiving and Christmas periods can get rather busy, so you should keep an eye out for when your reservation window opens to ensure your best chance of securing a booking.
There’s a wide variety of Hilton Grand Vacations properties to choose from
Mystic Dunes isn’t the only rebranded property soon to be available to HGV Club Members with HGV Max benefits. As of August 13, we’ve rebranded 10 former Diamond Resorts properties — most recently Ocean Beach Club, a Hilton Vacation Club in Virginia Beach and Lake Tahoe Resort, a Hilton Vacation Club in South Lake Tahoe. The rebranding process is a phased, multi-year effort, which started earlier this year and is scheduled for completion in 2026.
Please note that for HGV Max Members, the HGV Max Reservation Window will apply when making a reservation at these properties, which is six months before check-out. More details are available in the Club Reference: 2022 Rules and Fees guide on the Club website.
Rebranding Update
Soon, Club Members with HGV Max benefits will be able to relax at one of four oceanfront pools at the newly rebranded Ocean Beach Club, a Hilton Vacation Club
Upscale steakhouse Knife & Spoon is featured in Michelin’s inaugural Florida dining guide

The Sunshine State’s dining scene finally got some much-deserved love this summer when Michelin announced its inaugural Florida dining guide, awarding stars to four Orlando-area restaurants: the steakhouses Capa and Knife & Spoon (from “Top Chef” star John Tesar), as well as sushi bars Soseki and Kadence.
New restaurants seem to be opening every day around the Orlando metro area, joining long-standing favorites such as Kabooki Sushi, Prato and The Ravenous Pig. Recent standouts include The Pinery on Lake Ivanhoe, where Florida-inspired dishes include Cedar Key clam linguine and house-smoked fish dip; and Maguro Latin Fusion Cuisine, which introduces Puerto Rican flavors to Asian dishes — think egg rolls with shredded beef and sweet plantain, Korean guava ribs and avocado miso soup.
There are also some big culinary names getting in on the action, with fresh concepts from “Top Chef: All-Stars” winner Richard Blais and “MasterChef” host Gordon Ramsay.
Impressive new restaurants are opening around town
Sip on brews from the best local and national breweries while enjoying live music at the Orlando Beer Festival
Orlando is constantly offering new reasons to visit, including the Orlando Film Festival, the Orlando Beer Festival and America’s longest-running Fringe Theater Festival, which has been going strong since 1992.
For five weeks each year beginning in August, many of the city’s best restaurants come together for Visit Orlando’s Magical Dining, in which chefs prepare three-course, prix-fixe dinners for $40, with $1 from each meal going to local charities — they raised almost $290,000 last year during the height of the pandemic.
And in October, the Lake Eola Park area bursts to life with a massive pride festival, complete with a parade, concerts, dance parties and drag shows. Rounding out the fall festivities in November is Fall Fiesta in the Park, which features local artists, food vendors and fun-filled activities in support of Orlando’s local businesses. Grab the entire family (including your fur babies) and enjoy delicious eats in the beautiful Florida sunshine.
The city boasts a packed events calendar
