In January of this year, we added a second freestanding emergency department, the ER at Spanish Springs, an extension of Northern Nevada Medical Center®. We expect to open ER at Damonte Ranch, in early 2024, and it will be the fifth 24/7 ER facility in our network. These facilities bring convenient access to emergency services closer to home for our community. Also planned for early/ mid 2024 is the opening of a specialty care hospital, operated by NNMC. This new facility will feature acute rehabilitation and adult behavioral health services. We are continuing to expand care options across the community and region, so more people have greater access to quality healthcare. By doing this, we can keep raising the standards of quality, care and safety, all while meeting or exceeding your expectations. Every day we hear from patients who have experienced our services, and many share high remarks for the caring nature of our staff, the investment we are making in the community, and the ease of accessing services. It’s hard to believe that 2024 is almost upon us. This past year has been one of incredible accomplishment — and there are many great things planned for the coming year. We are excited to celebrate the 40th anniversary of Northern Nevada Medical Center. This hospital has been a mainstay for the Reno-Sparks community and we are proud to provide compassionate, quality care for all residents in the region. We have worked hard at our commitment to safety and have earned national and local recognition, including being recognized by the American Heart Association® and American Stroke Association® for maintaining best practices and high-quality care for some of the most critical patients. We also hold certification from The Joint Commission for advanced total hip and knee replacement and spine surgical care. In addition, Northern Nevada Sierra Medical Center celebrated its one-year anniversary. The hospital opened in April 2022, and includes new services for the community, such as The Family Birth Center, a Level II NICU, and cardiothoracic surgical services. It also features 100% private patient rooms – a promise we made 40 years ago when NNMC opened its doors. Given the significant growth of the community in the last couple of years, these services are a welcome addition to what our network of care offers.
