We continued to work on the development of the Northwest Specialty Hospital, an Extension of Northern Nevada Medical Center located in northwest Reno. The facility, announced last year, has plans to open in late 2024 and will provide adult behavioral health and acute rehabilitation services. These services are currently offered at Northern Nevada Medical Center and will relocate to the new facility once it is open. We have also added three new family medicine providers at Northern Nevada Medical Group. If you are looking for a provider, you can visit the site at nnmg.com and book an appointment online.
We are continually growing and expanding so that we can offer more options for care in the community.

Welcome to the summer/fall edition of Northern Nevada Health System’s Living Well. We hope you had a chance to take some time off to relax and recharge! As for the System, there is no time off. We have been busy on plans for expansion, which will continue to elevate the care of our community.

In April, we celebrated the second anniversary of Sierra Medical Center, an Extension of Northern Nevada Medical Center. We are pleased that more residents have discovered the many options Sierra Medical Center has to offer, especially the cardiothoracic services. Michael Cohn’s story is a testament to the great patient experience he had.
As part of our continual growth and expansion, we opened the ER at Damonte Ranch, an Extension of Northern Nevada Medical Center, the third freestanding emergency department in our System. Located at 1041 Steamboat Parkway, next to Safeway, in Reno, this facility will provide another location for the community to receive emergency care. In addition, we will soon break ground on another freestanding emergency department, ER at North Valleys, an Extension of Northern Nevada Medical Center, with an anticipated opening in 2025.
