Tokenization / Linkage
To ensure a patient’s identity is never disclosed, the following standards are put in place:
Patient Privacy Policies
No PHI information is stored in the Mosaic data warehouse.
People who have access to the warehouse and the Master Token ID for a patient are not able to access patient PHI information.
People who have access to a patient's PHI information are not provided access to the patient’s master token ID.
A third party privacy consultant has certified UBC's policies and procedures.
The ability to match patients across all data sources also allows Mosaic to ensure complete de-duplication of patient master records and transactions in all processes surrounding processes.
By utilizing the patient’s master ID, Mosaic is able to filter out real world data (RWD) to only the transactions belonging to the subjects in the specific program. This saves sponsors money by only buying RWD records that align with the patients in their programs.
Matching algorithm results in a 99.998% patient accuracy match rate
Subject PHI Information de-Identified before leaving sites.
De-Identification process encrypts patient Patient Health Information (PHI) in a manner that the patient is still able to be uniquely identifiable, without disclosing any personal patient information.

Data Cleaning
Mosaic provides the ability for receipt and delivery of data in any format, from any provider, at any time, and any size. These processes can be batched on a defined schedule or real-time exchange.
Guarantee that all data sets below 10 GB are received and fully integrated with existing program data.
If a request is received to remove a person and their transactional data from a program-Mosaic has the ability to perform data removal to the exact standard defined by the request including removal of data from original source files in archvie.
All files are retained in the Mosaic Azure data lake in their original format and kept for as long as needed
All entities and transactions are assigned the unique master token ID to ensure linkage capabilities across programs as well as real world data.
Archive files are stored in a manner so if reprocessing of data is required it can be performed in the exact same order as the original order.
Data process and structures designed to provide full traceability and history retention on every data point in the warehouse.
Designed comprehensive and flexible models that meet the needs of specific areas. Models are based on standard industry models.
Standard models are configured and extended to meet the specific needs of a program to ensure the data collected and provided aligns with the defined parameters of the program.
On top of providing a standard model to define data points, measurement scales, and data formats, Moasic also implements a set of standard policies to define and control data access and usage standards.
Eliminate burden on the provider to meet model standards by receiving data in any format and field size instead of making the suppliers meet our standards. Mosaic handles the mapping and transforms to align data with the program’s models.
Mosaic contains an intelligent workflow automation engine that integrates with UBC core systems and offers a standard interface to exchange information with partners.
Mosaic contains process engines that actively evaluate data to proactively locate errors in data and align the data to defined master standards.
When cleaning or master data conditions arise, Mosaic will automatically correct and send notice of the correction when possible or will engage event engine to initiate a notice or workflow if human interaction is required.
By default, Mosaic has standard cleaning and master data rules that can be used out of the box for a program, but these rules can be customized to meet a programs specific requirements.
Events processing can actively monitor for specific data occurrences or event triggers. Once fired, the event processing can engage a new workflow, pull additional data, build a data set, and fire a notification, to name a few examples.

REDUCE SITE BURDEN THROUGH INTEROPERABILITY AND E-SOURCE
Access to Real World Data (RWD) markets allows programs to purchase targeted prospective and retrospective data for the patients in the program. This eliminates the burden of sites having to produce and enter the program applications while saving money through buying only the data for the patients involved in the program.
Mosaic’s interoperability with health information exchanges and Electronic Health Records (EHR) systems enable programs to directly interface with a patient's records to pull data as it is entered and push request for actions (such as vital collections or lab requests) directly to the appropriate medical professional. Eliminating the entry of patient data into multiple systems greatly reduces the burden placed on site coordinators.
Patient Enrichment and Insights
The ability to link patients to real world data (RWD) expands the insights a program is able to gain about the patients without investing human hours to manually collect the data.
Example of a registry enhanced with RWD:
Subject count: 2,545
Subjects with entries in the market place: 2,445
Test of pharmacy and medical claims for the last two years, based on 2,454 subjects, produced 3.7 million medical claims transactions and 69,000 pharmacy transactions.
Synergy Through Alignment of Multiple Product Offerings
Mosaic provides the ability to link patients across products and programs. This streamlines operations, saves in human capital, and improves the services provided to the client.
More efficient SolutionS for Data Collection and Validation
Direct collection of data from Real World Data (RWD) markets and health networks saves money by reducing the human time required to perform duplicate data entry.
Patient linkage allows the same data point to be pulled from multiple sources to compare results. It allows for automated validation through system dual source verification. The auto validation process saves on the hours CRAs and sites have to spend verifying data as well as the travel costs required to support the verification process.
With automated data evaluation and verification, through system processes, Mosaic is able to easily find common data entry errors and flag key events to automatically initiate workflows for sites and program team members. This reduces the data management costs of a program.
Find Patients faster
UBC utilizes scientific knowledge to build advanced query models against our Real World Data (RWD) marketplace sources to build a population of potential patients that aligns with the patient model defined in the protocol.
If a company utilizes UBC for previous or current programs, the patients in these programs can formulate a base for other programs through Mosaic’s function process to assign a single master token ID for all patients across all programs.
Mosaic’s direct integration with Health Networks has the ability to directly query an Electronic Health Record (EHR) for a potential subject that meets the defined patient model for a program. With this information, programs are able to perform targeted engagements with sites while still retaining the privacy of the patient.
Analytics / AI
Mosaic is closely integrated with UBC's Pathways Analytics platform to provide a robust, advanced analytics and reporting platform.
Mosaic’s Natural Language Processing (NLP) module programs are able to gain real world, detailed analysis through any form of free text sources, such as phone calls, emails, and patient notes.
One component of automated processing in Mosaic is machine learning. Using machine learning, Mosaic can evaluate all data about a program (whether it is structured or unstructured) to find data correlations and insights that are not able to be caught by the human eye. As the data increases, Mosaic gains knowledge on the subject matter.
