Create a personal budget for how you want to spend your money and achieve your financial goals.
Want to learn how to manage your money better? We can help! This free program is open to all. In this short program, you’ll learn how to:
Understand your paycheck. Before you can start spending, saving, and investing, you need to know how much money you make. Set aside money for an emergency fund that covers at least three months of basic living expenses—for peace of mind, and to help make sure a financial set back doesn’t overtake your life. Make a plan to pay off debt. Paying off loans on time—or ahead of schedule—can save you a lot of money. Save for a big expense, like a car, a home, or school. The sooner you start saving, the less you’ll have to put aside each month. Find out what your credit score is and how to improve it. Plan for retirement—the earlier, the better!
You’ll also work one-on-one with a financial coach to help improve your financial situation. Group meetings Choose from: Every 3rd Thursday, 10:00 a.m. - 11:00 a.m. OR Every 2nd Wednesday, 7:00 p.m. - 8:00 p.m. You’ll receive a Zoom Link for the meetings when you register for program.
What is the Workforce Development Champions Program? The Workforce Development Champions Program is designed to provide additional professional and personal support for students completing the program. Each program track will have their own Champions program so that students can be paired with Champions that are most aligned with their professional and career interest. Who is a Champion? A Champion is a United Way volunteer that is interested in “reaching back” to guide and support our workforce participants while in their training programs as they work towards certification and employment. What is the process? Champions will be matched with a current participant as they prepare to enter the training program of their choosing. Once Champions and participants are paired, participants will be expected to initiate contact with their Champion and both will complete an agreement form that establishes personal and professional goals for the student. Both will be expected to communicate at minimum twice a month via phone, virtually, or in person. Champions will also be expected to complete a waiver for their participation. Who can be a Champion? We currently offer trainings in the healthcare and childcare fields. If you currently work in these fields or have experience working in these industries, we would love to have you volunteer with us!
