There are a ton of styles to choose from including hip hop, musical theatre, jazz funk and K-pop. Tee it up for a midday thing then hit Chapel Street with your new moves.
Tokyo Tina
A Chapel Street staple, Commune Group’s contemporary diner Tokyo Tina is giving you a reason to swap a Saturday night for a Saturday afternoon. Spinning Balls Bingo is fun to be had over two hours, hosted by the glorious Valerie Hex and includes complimentary kimchi rice and edamame when you book the bottomless brunch menu. You can go the 12pm or the 2.25pm seating every Saturday.
Sacred Heart Op Shop
You’re bound to find a vintage gem or rare find to add to your wardrobe at Sacred Heart Op Shop. This place is massive, full of designer clothes, furniture, home decor and a stacked library of pre-loved books for next to nothing. You could visit this place every week and find something new because the team runs their free collection service out of their Prahran store.
Studio Amaro
Forgo your weekday sandwich for Studio Amaro’s piatti. We’re talking bottomless fluffy sourdough focaccia, eggplant caponata with whipped ricotta, Sicilian olives, rigatoni arrabbiata, mortadella and tons more. It goes for modest $76 per person with free-flowing Italian wine, Bellinis and Aperol Spritz. It’s Studio Amaro’s electric vibes meets soul-nourishing Italo food. Round up your mates and get to it.

Greville Records are serious about vinyl. Hosting a winter dinner with your family? Head out during the day and pick up a record or two from Greville Records to set the mood of your evening. If you’re overwhelmed by the huge collection these guys have, ask one of the friendly staff to point you in the right direction.

Did you know Chapel Street is hiding a rave cycle spot? Bodhi and Ride is a hidden gem on the strip. This is anything but mundane and it’s very Chapel Street with its night club-esque light and sound system. Why late-arvo? Why not. Work up a sweat, follow it up with an everything shower then you’re ready to take on Prahran’s night life.
Chapel Street delivers the goods at any time of day, but night is when you’ll find it doing its best work in winter.
