Here’s To An Awesome Summer
Summer is synonymous with unforgettable roadies with your mates, so together with McDonald's, we're dishing up some unforgettable Australian road trip adventures for you and your crew. We’re talking regional gems, scenic landscapes, dusty sunsets, cracking surf breaks, charming towns,
and, of course, a must-stop at Macca’s.
Orange
If you haven't been to Orange, now is the time to check it out. The city drips with federation architecture, boutique food producers, and gorgeous vineyards—and all of it is just three and a half hours from Sydney.
Mudgee
Beloved Mudgee has been dubbed the new Hunter Valley with its incredible array of boutique wineries and vineyards. Swing by charming country favourites like Lowe Family Wine Co. and The Cellar by Gilbert.
Cobar
Traverse red soil and then sparse plains before reaching the town of Cobar. Dubbed "the Copper City", Cobar was once a big mining town in its day, but now it’s ideal for seeing the outback as it was always intended to be.
Emmdale Roadhouse
Lorem ipsum dolor sit amet, consectetur adipiscing elit. Huius, Lyco, oratione locuples, rebus ipsis ielunior. Non est igitur voluptas bonum. Sine ea igitur iucunde negat posse se vivere? Duo Reges: constructio interrete. Itaque e contrario moderati aequabilesque habitus, affectiones ususque corporis apti esse ad naturam videntur. Cur post Tarentum ad Archytam? Compensabatur, inquit, cum summis doloribus laetitia. Hanc quoque iucunditatem, si vis, transfer in animum.
White Cliffs
Still kicking it as an active opal mine, White Cliffs is one of the few places in the entire world where you can actually score bits of white opal and rare pineapple opal, so we suggest booking a tour with Red Earth Tours to see if you can actually score big time (it’s happened before).
Broken Hill
A must-visit for any traveller who loves a bit of quirk mixed with a passionate local community, Broken Hill is a beloved town brimming with charm. Expect moon-like landscapes, national parks, the most striking, dusty sunsets, and, of course, the colourful Palace Hotel from Aussie classic Pricilla Queen Of The Desert. Be sure to swing by the historic small neighbouring town of Silverton—home to an array of Hollywood film sets, including the original
Mad Max.
Sydney
A melting pot of multicultural cuisines, awe-inspiring art galleries, globally-revered water views and unparalleled beaches, Sydney sure is a stunner. With something new to try at every turn, be sure to check out our ultimate Sydney go-to guide here.

Kitana, Crew Member – McDonald's Warwick
Queen Mary Falls circuit bushwalk in Main Range National Park is a must-do when traveling through the area. It is a highly scenic location, featuring a lookout of the waterfall, as well as the picturesque surrounding bush. It also allows visitors the experience of doing a 40-minute round trip circuit walk to the bottom of the waterfall and back.

Macca's Recommends
If you're visiting the Dubbo area, a visit to Western Plain Zoo is a must, where you can ride a bike or walk around the track. Other must-do's include "Garling Gallery”, located fifteen kilometres out of Dubbo in Wongarbon where you'll find beautiful sculptures and paintings. And don't forget to visit “ Dundullimal Homestead” where you can learn about Dubbo’s history.
Melanie, Crew Member – McDonald's Warwick
Macca's Recommends
Leslie Dam is fun for every age and is a stone's throw from Warwick. Whether you want to swim, fish, ski or just hangout, Leslie Dam is definitely worth a trip.
Poppy, Shift Manager – Dubbo West
Macca's Recommends
If you go to Dubbo you have to go see the Dubbo Zoo — even if it’s just for a walk or quick drive around. There's also a new addition of a water park, making it a great break from the heat. Another must-do is Dubbo's Cultural Centre and cafe. Here you can learn more about Dubbo as well as get to witness art works from rural artists.
Naomi, Business Manager – Woy Woy
Macca's Recommends
Woy Woy Pelicans Wharf — they have a great seafood restaurant overlooking the water. They also have a waterfront market every second Sunday of the month which brings crowds from near and far.
Jessica, Shift Manager – Broken Hill
Macca's Recommends
I recommend everyone checking out the local rock pools in Silverton! It's about a 25 minute drive from Broken Hill, but with all the recent rain that the town has had, it sure does look beautiful and amazing to see in such a dry town.
Samantha, Supervisor – Port Macquarie
Macca's Recommends
Ricardo’s strawberry farm is the best place to pick fresh strawberries. Take the time to try the cafe, they have the best scones and pancakes topped with fresh strawberries.
Rachael, Restaurant Manager – Port Macquarie
Macca's Recommends
The coastal walk in Port Macquarie starting at Town Beach through the local beaches is stunning! Little Shack overlooking the break wall has the best views, cocktails and vibes. Billabong Zoo is also great, especially if you have kids!
Daniel, Restaurant Manager – Wonthaggi
Macca's Recommends
Wonthaggi is home to the State Coal Mine, only 8 minutes from the store. They do day trips where you can visit Australia's cultural mining heritage, explore underground tunnels, and even walk in the mines where people in Wonthaggi worked in the 1900s.
Jacob, Shift Manager – Swan Hill
Macca's Recommends
I recommend going to the pioneer settlement in Swan Hill. It is mostly located outdoors, with some arts within the premises. Much like Echuca’s area, this area is a lot larger and is home to churches, blacksmiths, steam trains and paddle boats you can take up the river.
Kane, Supervisor – Pakenham Bypass Outbound
Macca's Recommends
Take a stroll from Henry Road up Toomuc Valley Creek and within moments you’ll go from busy suburbia into river views and beautiful bush atmosphere.
You also can’t miss catching a show at Cardinia Cultural center. If you're traveling a little further to Gippsland make sure you check out Cannibal Creek Winery and The Toolshed Pub in Noojee
Aaron, Kitchen Crew – Geelong Bypass Southbound
Macca's Recommends
Torquay and Barwon Heads are great local beaches to visit. If you feel like taking some time out to watch a movie, I recommend Waurn Ponds cinema.
Shelley, Manager – Westminster
Macca's Recommends
Busselton is an awesome place to holiday or even just for a day trip, as there is a lot of great outdoors to explore. Whether it be the beaches or just walking the jetty — a piece of history that you can learn about with a little local museum located right before walking out. There are many little art galleries filled with arts and crafts all done by the locals and a pottery mill where you can learn and even have a go at creating your own amazing piece.
Madeleine, People & Culture – Bunbury
Macca's Recommends
While in Bunbury, climbing The Maidens lookout will take your breath away. Once you get to the top of the insanely steep stairs you're rewarded with a panoramic view of the sparkling Indian Ocean.
Georgia, Shift Manager – Landsdale
Macca's Recommends
I live near the Swan Valley, so a wine tour is a must. If you don’t want to hire a bus, public transport has your back! Always start at the Guildford Hotel for some cheeseburger spring rolls and make through all the wineries, breweries and definitely don’t forget the distillery!

Kitana, Crew Member – McDonald's Warwick
Macca's Recommends
Queen Mary Falls circuit bushwalk in Main Range National Park is a must-do when traveling through the area. It is a highly scenic location, featuring a lookout of the waterfall, as well as the picturesque surrounding bush. It also allows visitors the experience of doing a 40-minute round trip circuit walk to the bottom of the waterfall and back.
Sophie, Manager – McDonald's Wellington
Macca's Recommends
If you're visiting the Dubbo area, a visit to Western Plain Zoo is a must, where you can ride a bike or walk around the track. Other must-do's include "Garling Gallery”, located fifteen kilometres out of Dubbo in Wongarbon where you'll find beautiful sculptures and paintings. And don't forget to visit “ Dundullimal Homestead” where you can learn about Dubbo’s history.
Samantha, Supervisor – Port Macquarie
Macca's Recommends
Ricardo’s strawberry farm is the best place to pick fresh strawberries. Take the time to try the cafe, they have the best scones and pancakes topped with fresh strawberries.
