The Latch has partnered with Microsoft to celebrate the launch of Windows 11. With Windows 11, you can achieve more than ever before, hitting your own personal 11/10 across creativity, connectivity, productivity, and gaming.
Most of us would agree that we want to live a life that isn’t just good but one that rates as an 11/10 on the happiness scale.
We all want to live a life in full bloom that maximises potential and possibilities.
Being a life coach means that I am passionate about helping clients achieve exactly that, where they’re getting the most out of life in terms of their time, energy, and efforts. One thing that comes up time and again with my clients — and is a key element of living an 11/10 life — is mastering productivity. Productivity isn’t always about working hard but about working smarter and more mindfully.
I have heard countless times where people feel that staying focused and being productive is really challenging and overwhelming. Overcoming this challenge is key to both getting more done and being more content with everyday life.
Below I share my top five productivity hacks to help you maximise your mindset and time.

A Life Coach Shares Their Top 5 Hacks for Increasing Productivity
Get Organised
When it comes to being productive, getting organised is a crucial building block to have in your arsenal. As they say, by failing to prepare, you are preparing to fail. When you’re organised, there are less variables to think about when moving through your task list, which can decrease your stress and save you precious time.
When it comes to working, a frustration of mine has always been arranging windows on my screen like an extreme game of Tetris, so I can view multiple windows at once. I was so happy to discover that Windows 11 has a new feature called Snap Layouts that helps you to organise multiple apps in a single, tidy layout on my desktop.
I often use the 70/30 layout, which lets me have a primary window with a word document to write my notes in and display my to-do list on the remainder of the screen. This way, I know exactly what I want to achieve in the day while I tick off my list.

We all know the feeling of being overwhelmed by a long task list and attempting to calmly work your way through it to feel better about the busy day (or week). While you may feel in control on the surface, deep down you’re panicking about all the things you still have on your list.
“Chunking” is the process of breaking down all your tasks into manageable steps and action points to make them easier to tackle. When you can see everything laid out before you, you’re able to prioritise based on urgency and assess the purpose of each task.
You can even extend chunking beyond your action items and apply the same concept to your time. In fact, it is beneficial to yourself and your workload to schedule in your down time in order to rest and rejuvenate.
Focus is a state of flow, and energy flows where focus goes! Here’s the thing: we don’t naturally focus all the time. It’s something we all need to work on and practice it intentionally. Focus is really about removing distractions and channelling your attention into one thing at a time.
One way my tech is helping me to focus better is with Windows 11’s new feature called Focus Sessions. This feature brings an in-built timer to my computer, helping me get more done and be accountable for my time. Focus Sessions also integrates with Microsoft To-Do, which means I can tick off my tasks without having to switch devices or screens.
In terms of offline mindset tools that may help you focus, not only does meditation help to make you happier overall, it also helps you focus the mind on increasing your productivity. A common barrier to meditation is sitting still for long periods of time, so start small (even one minute a day) and build it up gradually as you gain more confidence.
Perfection paralysis is something that many people face. In fact, perfection is really just procrastination in disguise. Ironically, seeking perfection can sometimes result in no action being taken for fear of failure and flaws. It is better to have something completed than not done at, which is where taking imperfect action comes in.
Try to shift your mindset and get out of your own way. Embody a growth mindset where you never fail — which will make any situation either a win or an opportunity for learning. Further, know that the longer you sit on something, the more opportunities you may be missing out on that are awaiting your attention.
Take Imperfect Action
Accountability and productivity go hand-in-hand. A powerful motivator in life is having the integrity to do what you’ll say you’re going to do. It can be empowering to take responsibility and know that whatever you do, will have a greater impact and influence in the grand scheme of life (either on yourself or the people around you).
As a life coach, I am also an accountability partner for my clients. However you don’t need to have a coach — your accountability partner could be a friend, a colleague, or even your own technology! To help you build healthy digital habits, the Windows 11 Focus Sessions I explained will even allow you to gamify your productivity by setting a daily goal and challenge yourself to not break your streak.
Finding the right tricks to master productivity can be a challenge, but if you’d like to learn more about the ways Windows 11 can help you get on top of your to-do list, head here for more information.
