The roofs of the house and the farm buildings, the yard, the fields, the meadows, the forest — everything was covered with a white blanket of snow that looked like candyfloss. The loose snow crunched loudly underfoot. The festive spirit could already be felt all over the farm. A comforting sense of peace and tranquillity was spreading all around when suddenly ...
The front door, decorated with a Christmas wreath, was flung open with a bang. Emma, Alex and Martin (well wrapped up in warm hats and scarves) ran out and cheered. At the same time, the sweet scent of Christmas biscuits wafted out behind them that had already spread throughout the whole house. The adults were preparing goodies in the kitchen that would soon end up on the Christmas table.
Martin burst out laughing, lost his balance and fell down into a snowdrift. When Emma and Alex saw him lying there so helplessly, they threw themselves down on their backs next to him and started making snow angels with their arms and legs. As they did so, their shouts of joy spread to the whole farm.
They all jumped up out of the snowdrift, shook the snow off their jackets and started rolling snowballs. One, two, three ... Before long a slightly crooked snow figure with a crooked carrot nose and eyes made of pebbles stood there in the middle of the yard, directly under
a magnificent fir tree.
All three stood and admired their creation.
As beautifully as we can. So that the snowman isn't sad, and all our pets realize it's Christmas and have fun too!
And so the Christmas tree that shortly before had looked like a big white pointed cap was turned into a tree of happiness. The imaginative children decorated it with "icicles" made of carrots, "baubles" made of apples and walnuts and "tinsel" made of hay. Finally they sprinkled
the branches lavishly with grains of cereal as if it were glitter. The Christmas tree was guarded by the proud snowman with his slightly crooked nose. In fact, he smiled so charmingly that he invited all the farm animals to have
a taste.
He didn't have to wait long for the special guests. Lured
by the scent of the goodies, they first sniffed the branches curiously and then began to taste the delicious decorations. The cow and the horse chewed enthusiastically on the hay, the goat nibbled the carrots, the little pig pounced on the apples and the chickens pecked at the grains under the Christmas tree. The scene became cheerful, hearty, full
and loud — just like the family at the Christmas table.
After all, everyone who lives on the farm is one big family.
And everyone should be together at Christmas!
Happy Family Christmas!
BOOM!
- Hey? How about a snowball
fight?! - Alex asked.
-What a question to ask! - shouted
Emma and threw a snowball straight
at Alex's cap which then slipped down over his eyes.
- Hey! – Martin, the youngest in the group, suddenly stopped rolling around merrily in the snow. - Let's build
a snowman!
Good idea! – shouts Emma.
Alexander is also happy to join in.
Suddenly Emma said: You know what? – she asked. – There's still something missing here on our Christmas tree. Let's decorate it!
- Great idea, Emma! – replied the boys enthusiastically! And all three of them set to work.
Let's get started
