If your summer skin-care routine revolves around getting your glow on, these are the SPF staples for you. Dr. Nazarian *loves* a sunscreen that doubles as skin care, so she’s a big fan of the added skin-care ingredients in each formula.
Glow Recipe’s sunscreen stick is made with niacinamide, squalane, and watermelon seed oil to leave your skin looking radiant, even, and bouncy. Kiehl’s super lightweight serum contains collagen peptides to help protect against sun damage while reversing its effects. Finally, Supergoop’s fan-favorite tinted sunscreen includes hyaluronic acid and vitamin B5 for extra hydration, plus just the right amount of coverage to leave you looking sunkissed without the sun damage.
“In some ways, I find these products to be superior because they multi-task and protect skin in different ways,”
Dr. Nazarian says. It’s true—everyone loves a multitasker.

GRWM Goals
News flash: No matter how inspirational your GRWM videos look on TikTok, if they don’t include sun protection, they don’t make the cut. It can be easy to forgo sunscreen (especially in colder months) without much concern, but it’s actually one of the most important things you can do for your skin health, since sun damage is one of the greatest causes of skin aging and can result in wrinkles, uneven tone, and even skin cancer.
Even if you’re a self-proclaimed sunscreen hater, there’s guaranteed to be a formula out there you’ll fall in love with, and we teamed up with Sephora and board-certified dermatologist Rachel Nazarian, MD, to help you find it. Scroll down to find yours, and consider your GRWM morning routine *officially* complete.

The easiest way to make SPF part of your routine? Pair it with something else you already do daily, Dr. Nazarian suggests. If you put on makeup every morning, try using sunscreen as your primer, and pretty soon you’ll always associate one with the other.
You just have to find a sunscreen that pairs well with makeup, and Dr. Nazarian recommends lightweight, hydrating formulas to do that job—like these ones from Summer Fridays (it’s gentle, blendable, and contains skin-supporting antioxidants), InnBeauty (it blends seamlessly into skin and leaves a natural, radiant finish behind), and Innisfree (it’s moisturizing, calming, and has a dewy after-effect that improves the immediate appearance of skin, Dr. Nazarian says).
And remember, daily sunscreen use is mostly about the long game, but with daily use you’ll start to see short-term benefits, too, Dr. Nazarian says. “The key is to keep looking until you find a sunscreen that addresses your other skin-care needs, and that feels great on your skin,” Dr. Nazarian says. “Once you see the improvement, you’ll be hooked.”

Sun protection doesn’t end after your first layer of sunscreen in the morning. Dr. Nazarian recommends reapplying every two to three hours if you’re outdoors and every five hours indoors (those sun rays can still catch you through the window, and blue light from screens can be damaging to skin as well).
The most convenient formulas to throw in your bag so you can always reapply? A travel-sized bottle (this one from Sephora Collection has an invisible finish on all skin tones so you won’t have to worry about looking ghostly), a spray (like this heavenly scented Sol de Janiero body mist), or a stick (like this one from Shiseido that helps even out skin tone).
Just remember: If you’re getting out of bed, you’re going to need sun protection, Dr. Nazarian says. And with that golden rule in mind, all that’s left to do is find your formula, and update your latest GRWM video.
