For the last 15 years, Well+Good has been at the forefront of the wellness conversation, spotting the smart, cool, and downright fascinating trends that will dominate the wellness space in the years to come. And for 2025, we didn’t disappoint.
Our editors have spent the year combing through embargoed research, conducting
expert interviews, and deftly identifying social moments before they’ve gone viral. The result is what you see here: six cutting-edge wellness trends that set the tone for 2025. From parallel approaches that will guide our goals to celebrations of solo time in an overcrowded world, these trends get to the core of what it truly means to live well
and feel good.
Because ultimately, wellness is a journey. And we’re here for it.

A Renewed Emphasis on Nature
A Dual Approach Shapes the Industry
Solo time takes center stage
Just call it the choose-your-own-adventure approach: On one side, wellness seekers are leaning into forest bathing and pottery retreats or embracing the joy of logging off each day. And yet, others are finding solace in the more technical side of wellness, opting for gadgets, trackers, and blood tests that purport to optimize every aspect of their physical and mental health. These approaches are guiding individual paths—and allowing people to carve out their own unique wellness journey.

How biophilia is helping us heal
You don’t need to be a scientist to know that getting outside and connecting with nature has tons of research-backed health benefits, like lowering blood pressure, reducing anxiety, and even strengthening your immune system. As the global hiking market continues to climb—it’s expected to reach $9.1 billion by 2028—seasoned enthusiasts and newbies alike are looking for more ways to escape their urban jungles in search of actual ones. But if you can’t make it to a mountain, you can still get mood-boosting benefits from mini doses of nature, like public parks, botanical gardens, and even your collection of house plants.
From the rise of solo travel to the empowerment of living as a singleton, there’s a lot to be said for recharging by oneself. And in an increasingly busy world, finding time to be with your own thoughts—and comfortable in your own skin—is quickly becoming a coveted luxury. But contrary to what some might think, the root of this trend isn’t selfishness or a self-centered attitude. Instead, it’s about adjusting your own oxygen mask before assisting others—meaning that when you’re rested and ready, you can best show up for those around you.
It’s no secret that Gen Z is thinking about their futures differently from previous generations. Research shows that they’re both eschewing traditional milestones—like buying a house or having kids—and prioritizing tangible experiences over material wealth. Admittedly, part of the shift could be wrapped up in the general malaise attributed to financial instability. But if financial insecurity landed us here, financial wellness is the thing that will get us out. Keenly aware of the link between mental health and bank-account stability, Gen Z is thinking about their money, making budgets, and spending wisely. More than ever, expect to see a lot more talk about balancing checkbooks as a means to balanced well-being.
There’s no one-size-fits-all approach to beauty, and for the first time, skincare and makeup brands across the industry are listening. Recognizing that needs differ between your 20s and 60s (and beyond), brands are finally meeting you right where you are— whether you’re looking to treat adult acne or get glowier skin throughout menopause. This move isn’t a coincidence. Thanks to social media, consumers are more educated than ever: Searches for ceramide moisturizers are up 188 percent year over year, while hashtags like #collagenboosting have more than 1 million views on TikTok. As Gen Z and Gen Alpha come of age in the beauty aisle, they’re looking past the marketing jargon, digging into the ingredients lists, and expecting more from the brands they buy from.
How vacations with minimal plans maximize rest
Ever come back from a trip feeling even more exhausted than when you left? Yeah, we’re over that too. Wellness fans are all about leaning into holidays that actually prioritize rest and relaxation over packed agendas and “do it for the ‘gram” mindsets. So go ahead—sleep in until noon and order room service; head down to the beach and read a book. Your fully re-charged self is what’s trending.

How biophilia is helping us heal
Just call it the choose-your-own-adventure approach: On one side, wellness seekers are leaning into “soft care” more than ever before. From the rise of forest bathing and pottery retreats to embracing the joy of logging off each day, there’s never been a better time to chill out. And yet, others are finding solace in the “hard” side of wellness, opting for gadgets, trackers, and blood tests that purport to optimize every aspect of their physical and mental health. These dual approaches are shaping the industry—and allowing people to carve out their own unique wellness journey.
