From our four co-founders huddling together inside Miller’s Pub at the corner of Wabash and Adams in downtown Chicago in 2002 until now—we’ve come a long way.
This is our journey.
Four former Arthur Andersen employees—current CEO Kevin McCarty, Susan Stelter, Matt Rager, and Dean Fischer—meet inside Miller’s Pub in downtown Chicago and establish West Monroe Partners. Chicago becomes and remains West Monroe’s headquarters, with more than 1,000 of our nearly 2,100 employees based there today.

We serve our first client and ring the bell, an action that becomes a tradition—done virtually via email—each time West Monroe earns new business. Since 2003 until today, West Monroe has served nearly 3,000 clients.

We introduce our Chiefs program to help foster a culture specific to the interests of our employees. Chiefs programs include hot sauce, tacos, running, cycling, and much more—anything our employees are passionate about. Today there are 130 Chiefs programs across all West Monroe offices.
West Monroe opens its Seattle office
We expand our business to Seattle and the West Coast, opening our second office that today has more than 130 local employees.
West Monroe opens its New York office
We announce our arrival on the East Coast with expansion to The Big Apple. Our New York office today has more than 208 local employees—a number we are expecting to reach 750 by 2025.

West Monroe launches its
career equity program
In an effort to build the Next Generation of Leaders, our career equity program encourages employees to take a proactive approach in considering professional and personal interests to build a meaningful career.
West Monroe establishes the
We introduce a program that allows our employees to apply for consideration to pursue philanthropic and humanitarian interests that will make the world a better place with a three to six-month compensated leave. Today, 29 employees have participated in our Fischer Fellowship spanning 18 countries and helping 27 organizations.
West Monroe acquires On Point Consulting, opens Minneapolis office
We make our first acquisition as a firm. Acquiring the Minneapolis-based On Point Consulting, a merger integration solutions specialist, also establishes our fourth office based in the Twin Cities. Today, our Minneapolis office has 132 employees.
West Monroe acquires Madrona
Our Seattle office doubles in size with our acquisition of Madrona, a consulting firm focused on delivering customer relationship management and business intelligence solutions to mid-market and enterprise-sized clients.
West Monroe opens Los Angeles office
With offices already in Chicago and New York City, we hit the last of the Big Three by opening in Los Angeles. Today, that office has more than 100 local employees.
West Monroe hires its 500th employee and hits $100 million in annual revenue for the first time
West Monroe expands with acquisition of Etherios
We expand our list offices to San Francisco and Dallas following our acquisition of Etherios, a consulting firm specializing in delivering cloud-based customer relationship management (CRM) solutions built on the Salesforce platform.
West Monroe introduces its new mission statement: Building the next generation of leaders
West Monroe acquires Invoyent
Our Healthcare & Life Sciences practice adds more than 30 employees when we acquire Invoyent, a consultancy dedicated to supporting health plans with deep software, healthcare, and consulting experience.
West Monroe sponsors its first Day of Service
We begin our annual tradition of closing our offices for one day in June to partner and volunteer with local organizations. In 2021, we partnered with 45 organizations and gave more than 4,700 combined hours of time to better our communities and the people within them.
West Monroe acquires CAST
Nearly 20 employees are added to our Financial Services practice with the acquisition of CAST, an L.A.-based consulting firm specializing in performance optimization solutions.
West Monroe introduces Employee Resource Groups
Inclusion and diversity are embedded in our core values, so we introduce Employee Resource Groups. Today, we have six ERGs: Black Employee Network, Interfaith, Pan-Asian Network, SOMOS, WMPride, and Women's Leadership Network.

We announce our acquisition of Waterstone, an advisory firm for private equity firms and Fortune 500 companies, to help our growth strategy and deepen our expertise in the software space.
We double the size of our Minneapolis office after acquiring GoKart, a digital product studio that works alongside clients to invent, design, and build digital experiences to solve business problems.
Where it all began. We unveil our 208,000 square foot West Monroe HQ, located at 311 W. Monroe St. in Chicago’s Loop.
Acquires Pace Harmon and Two Six Capital
We acquire IT and back-office functions-focused Pace Harmon, which also establishes our Washington, D.C. office. We also acquire data science firm Two Six Capital, based out of San Francisco.
Years of innovation at the firm lead to proprietary software and tools for West Monroe clients that boost results and impact.
West Monroe acquires Verys
The largest acquisition in our company’s history, we bring on California-based Verys and its 220 employees to continue scaling our digital product engineering capabilities.
West Monroe acquires Carbon Five
Our growth in digital product development solutions continues with our acquisition of Carbon Five, a national product management, digital design, and software engineering firm.
West Monroe takes on partnership with MSD Partners
We find a long-term strategic partner in MSD Partners, backed by Michael Dell, to help fuel our organization’s growth of becoming a leading digital firm for our clients and community.
West Monroe moves to a hybrid working model to adapt to new employee and client expectations
West Monroe adds two new C-suite roles, Chief Commercial Officer and Chief Revenue Officer, to increase focus on the right type of growth our clients and people want.
West Monroe celebrates 20 years. In May, we bring together our 2,000 employees from across the country to celebrate and collaborate on building the next chapter of our future.
In the summer of 2022, West Monroe is opening an office in London, primarily to serve European private equity clients.
West Monroe will continue to make acquisitions that deepen expertise in the core industries we serve and expand capabilities for our clients.
