This year, we invited four of our innovators to share what innovation looks like in practice through a “Day in the Life” video series. From coding in Python and designing new data models, to writing user stories in Nigel and collaborating on AI use cases, their work shows how ideas move quickly from concept to client impact. Along the way, they bring their own energy—whether it’s mentoring colleagues, checking in with marketing, or even squeezing in a volleyball match or a run along the river—that keeps innovation grounded in people as much as technology.
Julia Waggoner, Senior Manager in Technology & Experience, prepared a Hopper demo for a new client, brainstormed ideas for a client’s new data model design, and explored Hopper’s UI to help clients work more efficiently. She also connected with colleagues—including new Tech Ex lead John Rosato—mentored an advisee, and recharged with a run along the Chicago Riverwalk.
Nancy Vermitsky, Data and GenAI Asset Lead, spent her day writing user stories and epics in Nigel, West Monroe’s proprietary GPT solution, collaborating with product owners, and discussing how we innovate with the platform. She also prioritized upcoming Intellio® Advantage work—while still making time to let her dogs out and water her garden.
Thomas Buck, Consultant in New York, wrote Python code for a client project, while also brainstorming AI use cases and potential machine learning model enhancements to drive client value. He wrapped up the day by hitting the court with West Monroe’s Chiefs Volleyball program, blending teamwork at work and play.
Cam Cross, Partner in Data & Analytics, collaborated with insurance leaders on AI and analytics use cases, explored ideas for AI workshops with a potential client, and met with marketing to align on how West Monroe is promoting the Intellio® Suite. His day reflects how innovation happens at the intersection of collaboration, client engagement, and market impact.
FOLLOW ALONG WITH OUR INNOVATORS
At West Monroe, Innovation Week is more than an event. It’s our way of putting bold ideas into action. Each year, we pause to celebrate creativity, experiment with new approaches, and highlight the people who push us forward. Innovation is embedded in how we work, create, and deliver value for our clients every day, and Innovation Week gives us a chance to showcase that spirit.
