Energy Efficiency Audit
Customer Overview
Resorts World Casino International was looking to make their newly converted casino property more energy efficient to update their building management system software, and to comply with new Environmental, Social, and Governance (ESG) and Government mandates.
Challenge
World Kinect partnered with leading energy efficiency audit and retrofit providers to perform an energy audit of all casino facilities and to provide the reporting necessary for compliance purposes.
World Kinect Solution
The audit showed that since the original racetrack was renovated in 1956, its steam plant with hot water heat exchangers and three very large steam boilers have exceeded their usable life. The outdated boilers were replaced by two specially-designed Aerco high-efficiency condensing boilers, displacing the steam load at the heat exchangers.
The steam plant’s energy efficiency was increased by more than 40%, while saving over $30,000 per year in maintenance fees on the old boilers.
Retrofitted the parking garage and selected areas of the building with new LED lighting fixtures and LED lamps.
The legacy building management system (BMS) software was replaced by an updated software platform, installed without interruption to the property. The analytic software overlay made the web-based BMS more intelligent and included fault detection with alarms for anomalies, data collection for curtailment and weather adjustment recovery times.
