Energy Efficiency Audit
Customer Overview
Outdated equipment is known to be a driver of increased energy consumption. Keen to improve their infrastructure and find ways of becoming more energy efficient, the Western Allegheny Community Library was looking for a partner that would be able to help them evaluate their facility and implement cost effective solutions to update key equipment and save on energy.
Challenge
To help the Western Allegheny Community Library achieve their energy efficiency and cost reduction objectives, World Kinect conducted a comprehensive energy audit of their facilities and delivered a set of energy efficiency recommendations.
World Kinect Solution
World Kinect’s first recommendation was to replace the old lighting with new, brighter, and energy efficient LED lighting throughout the library.
World Kinect recommended and helped to install 4 new HVAC units on the library roof to replace the outdated equipment.
Being more energy efficient, the new lights and the HVAC systems helped effectively regulate the temperature within the space, allowing for a reduction in energy consumption, and ultimately a reduction in the library’s energy spend.

footprint
The library reduced electricity usage and costs, achieving its goal of becoming more energy efficient.
Operating costs also reduced due to a reduction in service calls required to maintain the old equipment.
REDUCED ENERGY
COSTS
The project has been completed, and we couldn’t be more satisfied with the results. Our customer’s reading experience has been enhanced due to the new LED lighting. Our electricity usage has decreased, and we are relieved not to have to worry about continual service calls for our old HVAC units. The new HVAC units are more efficient, and those operating costs will decrease too.
