Pairing technology with strategy to guide bold projects
At the heart of our simulation work is the ‘Asset of the Future’ – a suite of solutions that help customers build more efficient and sustainable assets.
We integrate digital solutions, operations technologies and strategic planning to create future-ready assets that optimize performance, reduce emissions, and ensure long-term efficiency, safety, and sustainability.
We partner with customers to achieve lasting change by encouraging open dialogue about the challenges of integrating CCUS across the value chain.
Example for improving a CCS value chain in the Gulf of Mexico
Using our CO2 Simulation capability, we evaluated and mapped scenarios for optimizing a carbon capture and storage (CCS) network in the Gulf of Mexico. By analyzing emissions data from CO2 emitters, we identified efficient connections to offshore storage sites via pipeline infrastructure.
The tool assessed multiple pipeline architectures and dynamic simulations to determine the most effective configurations. This enabled options to reduce CO2 transportation and storage costs while maximizing overall network efficiency.
Example: Comparing CO2 pipeline and shipping routes in the Baltic Sea
In the Baltic Sea, our CCUS Value Chain simulation visualizes and analyzes the customers' CCUS network by processing emissions data from key CO2 emitters.
The simulation evaluates both pipeline and shipping routes, comparing their performance and economics to identify the most efficient configuration. Through advanced simulations, we help customers validate their development plans and make informed decisions before securing a CO2 storage license.
Optimizing CCUS value chain
We work with customers to identify optimization opportunities in CO2 transport logistics and connecting captured CO2 to utilization facilities and storage sites.
We bring together key CO2 emitters, transport operators, and storage project developers; mapping out efficient routes for capture, transport, and storage. Our simulations deliver actionable and viable solutions with increased trust, enabling the successful scaling and launch of CCUS projects.
Aligning the CCUS ecosystem for success
A lack of integration among carbon capture, utilization and storage (CCUS) stakeholders has led to numerous project cancellations, driven by challenges such as unconfirmed offtake agreements, transport and infrastructure logistics, and regulatory issues.
Many customers face gaps in skills and capabilities, preventing them from effectively aligning key participants across the CCUS value chain. This misalignment complicates the success of projects and prevents companies from meeting their decarbonization goals.
