“Memorial Day is a very somber holiday in my household. It really is the day that I focus on the people who’ve lost their lives protecting our country. I usually just have a quiet day at the house, spending time with my family, who I’m fortunate enough to still be here with.”
Memorial Day for me is a time to reflect on those I've lost to war. I take time to share fond memories of the brothers or sisters gone but not forgotten.”

It is a day for all of us to remember and give thanks to all of the brave men and women (not just American, but our allies) who gave the ultimate sacrifice for us to be free.
Every year on Memorial Day, I do think about those [I lost] and try to remember the good times and what they’ve done. It’s kind of a double-edged sword for me. It’s an enjoyable time, but it’s also very emotional.

Memorial Day, to me, is an opportunity to honor those who have been a part of your life. Whether you appreciate what they did for you in the past, or whether you just know you are the person you are today because of them, honor their memory by reflecting on the person they were and the person you are."
