Burton is the most diverse and collaborative school that I have seen in my 21 years of teaching. It is like home and a nuclear family to us all. At Burton our uniqueness is celebrated and our differences are actually what make us more united. We have a unity of purpose and are very empathetic to each other and our community in general. Burton Rams, we have high expectations.

Burton is unique because it is a family and it has one of the most open door principals. We are the first school to receive the LIGHT HOUSE BLUE RIBBON AWARD. Every child gets a chance to experience being loved and cared for once you step into the school building. The children are greeted with music to awaken them and start them off for a very productive day.

I absolutely love the community and intentional family engagement. Our first interaction with the team was during a virtual tour, and the full admin team participated and led the tour via Zoom. Though we couldn't enter the building at the time because of necessary COVID protocols, my wife and I knew that Burton was the best place for our son. My son is SEEN at Burton, and we trust each staff member with his education and being part of his village.

My child didn't like to show his work in math, but Ms. Lamb realized that he loved tutoring other kids. She was able to get him to show his work by assigning him the job of tutor and this was simply one example of the strengths-based methodology she employed to always bring out the best in him.

For both of my girls, performing in the quarterly showcase has been a highlight of their time at Club. They've gotten to participate with their class or their club, as well as independently with friends. There are many things that make our school unique. My favorite thing about our school is the love and school spirit that you feel when you walk into our school. We have a school culture that embraces diversity. The atmosphere at Fayetteville Street is student- and family-centered. Families appreciate the way that teachers both encourage and challenge their students. They sense the balance between high standards and grace. We are intentional about building relationships which creates a safe, supportive and purposeful environment for students to grow intellectually, socially, and emotionally.
