Category: Responsive Grantmaking

Amount Awarded: $20,000
Our Story:
Our mission is to provide the services, support and resources necessary to cultivate and ensure a thriving arts community in the Triangle region of North Carolina.
The arts impact the economy, culture, history, vibrancy and quality of life in this region. Despite this, before TAW launched, no organization focused solely on what the arts needed to thrive as a business sector, and the sector needed help. Many artists struggle to make a living, while nonprofit employees are seeing record levels of burnout and feel disconnected and unsupported. A workforce that is struggling financially and feeling unsupported cannot thrive. TAW builds programs, resources and services to meet these business needs and a platform to build power and presence for the sector. Our programs meet their business challenges, including emotional needs, while respecting their work and time. Our platform and community connections allow us to be nimble and respond to the rapidly changing business needs of this sector.
